Knowledge Vs. Experience

Many people I know choose to work for a few months upon graduation from high school, whilst still waiting for SPM result to be released. Both my elder and younger sisters did, at least. Nevertheless I chose to stay at home for the next 5 months after SPM, remained oblivious towards what was going on around the society. According to my younger sister and cousin during the conversation yesterday after movie at 11.15pm while waiting for KTM train, they chose to come out and work after SPM, with little knowledge, just to gain experiences and to know how the society works! I wasn't feeling comfortable about this statement as I endorse the significance of knowledge so much more than purely experience with little knowledge. According to them, the society is NOT that simplistic as every working place is inevitably full with internal politics and stuffs. An undergraduate degree holder would be of disadvantage should he/she came out without any working experience. For no apparent reason, s...

Last Sunday Service of the Month (25/3/12)! =)

I couldn't help much but just one thing to say now. Praise the Lord!!! I woke up late today cause slept quite late (around 1.30am) yesterday night and yes I don't prefer to use alarm clock to wake up so that my body will have enough rest. I woke up at 9.30am, which was 15 minutes after the service started. I was like... GOSH I missed the first morning service today! Personally I prefer to go for the first session as I can go back early after service and start doing work, studying etc. But something in me told me this... Just go! You can still make it for the Word of God! Coincidentally my mom's Myvi was almost out of fuel (the petrol sign kept flashing) so I had to refill the petrol on my way to church. When I reached Acts Church around 10.05am, Pastor Kenneth was just about to preach the sermon! AMEN! I just made it on time! Praise the Lord! =) Sunday Service (25/3/12)  (Reverend Kenneth Chin) Bible verses: Acts 1:8, 2; Zechariah 4:6; Roman 5:5, 7; John 16:5-16 - Holy ...

Third Sunday Service of the Month (18/3/12)! =)

Everyday I woke up, just to be bombarded with the thought of trial exams approaching. It was 7.45am. I woke up and proceeded to my Economics notes, continued with topics regarding monetary policy and supply side policy. Early morning is, in my opinion, the best time to study especially when one is required to memorise lots of points upon understanding it. Economics works this way for me. You have to understand it, then memorise the points so that you can further elaborate the points during the exam. A good start for my preparation of trial exam coming in less than 2 weeks time, I thought. Next week is going to be more hectic, and of course the week after. Economics 42 on Wednesday, FM1 on Thursday and FM2 on Friday. How 'nice'! My parents didn't oppose much this morning for me going to church, praise the Lord! =) The annual event of 21 days U-turn (Pray and Fast) has already started yesterday, and now I know the difficulty to fast, especially at home. I do acknowledged ...

Storage Paradox

Chinese New Year is around the corner, and by this time many parents (including mine) start to clean up the house, seems as an effort to welcome a great year ahead. My mum, in particular, began to be excited to clean up everywhere around the house. Curtains, grills, storerooms, rooms; and the list goes on and on, endlessly. What interests me is not this, but rather something most of the people wouldn't have pondered upon. Having lived in a small house in Setapak (KL) for over 12 years, I had accustomed to living at a small cosy house before moving to a slightly larger house at Seri Kembangan (Selangor), when I was graduated from my primary school. Despite my old house in Setapak was small enough with very little room for storage, but the storeroom was always full with old books and documents that my parents used for their Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA) exams.  Now that we have moved to the new house, and they have qualified as Associates (ACI...

Blessing in Disguise! =)

'How's Cambridge decision?' and  'Got any reply yet?' are among the most common questions that I got these few days. The actual decision was revealed finally after a few months, on last Friday. Some of my friends (in fact a lot) got rejected as always, and some of them got pooled. I don't personally know of anyone who got offer from the University, until just now someone told me that one of my friends got offer. I would like to congratulate those who got offers and commiserate those who got rejected. To those who are being pooled and waiting to be fished, good luck and have faith in yourself! =) Unbeknownst to me, I was waiting for my decision like anyone else. Thanks to my senior, I was advised to stay calm and not to expect too much. Indeed, expectation would influence your immediate reaction at the moment you get to know your result. If you hoped too much, you will be very disappointed when you were rejected. If you did not expect much, you wouldn't fee...

Rat Race! =)

It's been a few days and I'm back! Well I'm always here. I have so much things to tell yet couldn't put it in words. I just don't know where to start. I've attended a few events these few days - a gathering for Christian Fellowship members in TCSJ (2010) and an annual general meeting for alumni of Alam Shah Science School (OASIS). I wouldn't tell everything in detail cause that would certainly bores you to death, but I've noticed something in common. And I feel obligated to share it with you, my reader. First of all, I felt extremely happy and grateful to gather with many old friends (some of them even lost in touch for ages). I was happy for their well being now, and definitely hoped that they would continue to do well in their life. Some of them do extremely well and have already proceed to doing their respective degrees, while some of my seniors from my previous secondary school have already started working. Some of my CF friends are taking gap year...

Back Up Plan!!! ^_^

Thanks to everyone who advised me to have my back up plan, if I failed to secure any scholarship in the end. For these few days, i have planned to study A-Levels as my back up plan. After searching for various well known colleges, finally i came out with Methodist College Kuala Lumpur (MCKL) as my choice for me to study A-Levels. One of my reasons for me to choose it is that the total cost for me to study is relatively cheap, as compared to Taylor's, HELP, INTI, Sunway, etc. With my humble result, i can still get 100% tuition waiver scholarship from the college itself, and because of that, here is my calculations on the total cost for overall A-Levels program with and without scholarship from the college;                    With scholarship:  = Miscellaneous fees(RM3,040) +  External A-Levels exams fee [RM4,500 (4 subjects)] + IELTS class and test fee (RM1,150)  = RM8,690 #  Without scholarship: = Mi...

Why we must look for a JOB upon graduation?

We need to get a good job upon graduation, mainly is to afford our life, and improve our lifestyle. Graduate without any effort to find a suitable job, is totally wasting 18 years(approximately) of studies, time, efforts and parents' money. Our parents spent a lot on us, making investment on us, care about us with invaluable love for such a long time since we were born, and it's time for us to repay them once we are graduated, by working. Working is the source of money, and unless you were to build up your own business, eventually you would still need a job to gain income. Besides, we would have to work to build our career, to gain precious experiences and to fulfill our materialistic mind. I believe, everyone would have desires to buy things, to fulfill their materiality world, for example luxurious cars, huge bungalow, stylish watch, fashionable handbags, etc. When our desires are being fulfilled, we would feel the sense of satisfaction, and might be happy. Rome was not bui...
