Third Sunday Service of April (22/4/12)! =)

Hello people! So it's sermon time again! This is the sermon for Sunday service this morning, delivered by Pastor Sandra! Before commencing the sermon, Pastor read through the biblical scriptures! So here it goes: Bible verses: Revelation 22:17, John 14:1-2, Matthew 24:36, Acts 1:6-7, 9-10, 1 Thessalonians                     4:16-17, Ephesians 5 - Remember Bible verses can help people in all sorts of circumstances, with God speaking to you. - There is an angel watching over everyone of us. - God gives us another helper (Holy Spirit). - When you hear the trumpet sound of archangel, Jesus is coming! - Jesus is our bridegroom, and He is now busy building our mansions in Heaven for us! - Jesus is waiting to come and get us, His second coming! - Jesus is coming back to get His bride (the church)! - We need to get ready as a bride, by improving ourselves for our bridegroom (Jesus), befor...

Knowledge Vs. Experience

Many people I know choose to work for a few months upon graduation from high school, whilst still waiting for SPM result to be released. Both my elder and younger sisters did, at least. Nevertheless I chose to stay at home for the next 5 months after SPM, remained oblivious towards what was going on around the society. According to my younger sister and cousin during the conversation yesterday after movie at 11.15pm while waiting for KTM train, they chose to come out and work after SPM, with little knowledge, just to gain experiences and to know how the society works! I wasn't feeling comfortable about this statement as I endorse the significance of knowledge so much more than purely experience with little knowledge. According to them, the society is NOT that simplistic as every working place is inevitably full with internal politics and stuffs. An undergraduate degree holder would be of disadvantage should he/she came out without any working experience. For no apparent reason, s...

Warwick (MORSE) or Cass (Actuarial Science)?

This question has been revolving in my mind for a few weeks and now I'm still contemplating over this. People have been saying it ultimately boils down to what I want to do, and it's really up to me to choose which one to go. But I will evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of both schools and courses, and I believe this would be really helpful for anyone having the same dilemma with me. I would start the evaluation with MORSE (3 years) at Warwick. Its optional modules are enviably interesting and broad, a course structure that one wouldn't be able to learn in Cass. Stars, Galaxies, Number Theory, Particle Physics and Quantum Mechanics, just to give a few examples. It provides me a greater exposure to various topics in maths and physics, aside from probability and statistics that primarily involved in Actuarial Science. The reputation of Warwick as one of the top 6 universities in the UK also provides many career opportunities as graduates from MORSE are often sought af...

Last Sunday Service of the Month (25/3/12)! =)

I couldn't help much but just one thing to say now. Praise the Lord!!! I woke up late today cause slept quite late (around 1.30am) yesterday night and yes I don't prefer to use alarm clock to wake up so that my body will have enough rest. I woke up at 9.30am, which was 15 minutes after the service started. I was like... GOSH I missed the first morning service today! Personally I prefer to go for the first session as I can go back early after service and start doing work, studying etc. But something in me told me this... Just go! You can still make it for the Word of God! Coincidentally my mom's Myvi was almost out of fuel (the petrol sign kept flashing) so I had to refill the petrol on my way to church. When I reached Acts Church around 10.05am, Pastor Kenneth was just about to preach the sermon! AMEN! I just made it on time! Praise the Lord! =) Sunday Service (25/3/12)  (Reverend Kenneth Chin) Bible verses: Acts 1:8, 2; Zechariah 4:6; Roman 5:5, 7; John 16:5-16 - Holy ...

Ignorance! =(

Wooohooo it's me again! This week passed rather fast but as time passes, I just get more nervous and emotionally drained. Trial exam is approaching in less than 2 weeks now, and for this whole week I've been trying hard to fully utilise my time at night, spared for revision and study. I've tried out a few Physics past year and one inference that I could derive from it was that I understand nothing much about Physics. I will get stuck whenever I face questions demanding graphs and explanations. I got really worried about it cause I shouldn't be ending up like this as I expected something better than this. Again, I gave too high of expecation to myself and eventually got upset about it. My friends told me that what matters the most in Physics are the formulae and understanding. Fully utilise the power of formulae and you shall never go wrong in your graphs sketching. For explanation, you must understand the particular concept to give a good explanation. I only studied...

Second Week of March! =)

Good morning people! I'm awake now and it's wayyyyy too early for a weekend! The malfunction of my alarm clock has definitely trained me well to rely not on him, but rather my most reliable biological clock! I'm lazy to change the battery, or buy a new battery, cause this has never came across my mind recently! Too busy with study. Wait, really? These few days I woke up everyday automatically at 6.15 - 6.20am, with the first thing in mind is... trial is coming in less than 3 weeks! Stressful. =( I praise God for waking me up, take shower and prepare myself for class commencing at 8am every weekday. My breakfast has been the same too, for this whole week; yet I enjoy eating it so far; 2 bananas, 3 slices of wholemeal bread with peanut butter spread, 2 eggs and a cup of low fat milk. This can last me for another 4 hours before my break time at 11am. This week I spent quite a considerable number of hours teaching my juniors too, mainly on applied maths (mechanics and stati...

Basketball Match! =)

It's been really really long time since the last time I played basketball on daily basis. I was in Form 4 by then, and studied most of the time when I was in Form 5. College life started after 6 months in June 2010 and again I was busy accustuming myself with yet another new chapter of my life. Basketball totally went out of my mind and I haven't been playing it for quite some time, until few days ago when my junior asked me to join his basketball team representing A-Levels students in conjunction of Scholars' Sports Day! What? Sports Day? Last year I didn't join and doubt I would have ever participated this year. I eventually agreed to join his team since not many A-Levels guys know how to play basketball. I planned to practice playing basketball these few days but eventually the plan failed due to raining mostly in the evening. Everything was against my plan and I felt so discouraged to join the Sports Day yesterday night. Oh before that, yesterday I wanted to com...

Updates on Second Week of February! =)

I didn't go to gym this week, nope not even once! =( Attributes to the public holidays on Monday and Tuesday, I was staying at home all the while. I couldn't go to gym as it is located in Summit Subang Jaya and I wasn't in Casa. But on Monday I went to Times Square to meet up with a friend  and unexpectedly met some other friends too! Aina just came back from Melbourne and is doing internship now with Security Commission (she's a Sime Darby scholar, though). Knew her back in June 2010 when I entered college and she already half way through her SAM programme. With Aina! =D  Pavillion's awesome CNY decoration of Dragon! Peace! =D  Again, nice decoration! =D  With Aina, Han Shen (center) and his friends! =) So the outing was really awesome! After one year of studying degree in Accounting and Finance in the University of Melbourne, Aina shared with me some of the thoughts she have on her study and this includes a fair bit of stock market. So far s...

Back to Library! =)

I'm ALIVE! And the chestpain hitting me yesterday has subsided, though minor pain still can be felt occasionally. The bliss of living another day enlivens my day with gratefulness; appreciating every single moment through. One of my friends told me the primary reason for not having new year resolutions is, due to highly probable restrictions faced to sole new year resolutions and no further plans. For new year resolutions are deterministic and impromptu plans are pure randomness. 'Live up the day as if everyday was the last day you have' was what my friend told me, and I fully concur with the implication of contributing significances to the society by practicing such wise advice. Well I'm back to the library! err, yeah college's library if you are wondering. There lies many memories of mine, particularly college life, for the past 19 months. It's been more than 6 months now since my last staying back in the library, mainly after I started joining gym back in J...

Reflections on January 2012! =)

January 2012 is coming to the end soon and it's time to reflect what I've done thus far. So far my new year resolutions are still remained intact, although I've breached one of them such as diet (especially during CNY week). I could resist myself from all the food temptation in the first 2 days of CNY, but starting from third day I literally ate what were on the table, without self-control much. -.- As the result of eating everything on the table, my belly is back! Well maybe not as bad as I thought, but still it would take me at least another week to cut it off. Why do you love me so much, belly fat? =( I don't love you and wish you wouldn't come back to me ever. This time I must send you further to somewhere more isolated haha. =p 10kg weight loss wouldn't sound impossible if I'm determined enough. What about study? CNY mood was so overwhelming that I hardly think of studying. Kids were playing firecrackers everywhere, and again tempting me to join the...

Counting Blessings! =)

Hello people! I'm back from a week of classes before Chinese New Year! Wait, YES Chinese New Year is coming soon! Excited? I bet you are, if you were a Chinese. Anyway, there are lots of things for me to update here! So ready? Here it goes. Saw that or not? Yea that's right! As you might have guessed, Taylor's College SJ actually invited a lion dance team to college, just to perform on our ECA Recruitment Drive. I was so freaking excited when I was watching lion dance performance, considering that it's been years since I watched lion dance performance for the last time. Ah, the bliss of childhood memories rushing all over. I literally cheered for the lion dance performers after they finished performing. =p (like a kampung boy haha, I know! -.-)  It was held yesterday, giving opportunities to new students to join new clubs and societies. When I looked at them choosing society by society, I suddenly thought of myself when I was in my first semester, back in Jun...

New Outlook! =)

Some of my friends told me that it's quite hard to read posts in dark background, especially like what I always do. Long-whining post with many words. Gracemode suggested to me, saying that I should try white background instead with dark color words. I think she was right, so there you go! I think it's time to give this blog a fresh outlook, since it's a new year! I've got some gifts for my new year and I've posted this on the first day of the year on Facebook! New pair of shoes, new haircut, new wallet and a new spectacle. Now I'm going to strive hard for my new goals, new plans and new hopes! I would be going back to college tomorrow, and hectic classes would be resumed.  Despite all these gruelling schedule that I've foreseen, I'm definitely looking forward for tomorrow! It's been a month that I've done nothing, revised nothing on my formal academic syllabus. It's time to go back to my study. But it is also the time that I would me...

Actuarial Science Vs Engineering

Actually I'm in dilemma now, whether to choose A-Levels in MCKL or Diploma in Electrical Engineering(Communication) in UTM. To be frankly, Engineering were my preferred courses since I was in primary school, but well, apparently I don't really know a lot about this course. Until when I was Form 4, I suddenly fell in love with this very particular course - Actuarial Science. I had never heard about it before when my dad(a banker) mentioned about it in a random talk on a journey back to home from a vacation. Curiosity aroused from the talk, and I straight away did researches about Actuarial Science once I reached home. Unexpectedly, I fell in love with this course, and kept on telling myself that I want to study this course as my future career!   Apparently, my knowledge about Actuarial Science is definitely more than that in Engineering courses. I knew that to become a qualified actuary, one have to sacrifice a lot of precious time to study for the series of professional actu...

Back Up Plan!!! ^_^

Thanks to everyone who advised me to have my back up plan, if I failed to secure any scholarship in the end. For these few days, i have planned to study A-Levels as my back up plan. After searching for various well known colleges, finally i came out with Methodist College Kuala Lumpur (MCKL) as my choice for me to study A-Levels. One of my reasons for me to choose it is that the total cost for me to study is relatively cheap, as compared to Taylor's, HELP, INTI, Sunway, etc. With my humble result, i can still get 100% tuition waiver scholarship from the college itself, and because of that, here is my calculations on the total cost for overall A-Levels program with and without scholarship from the college;                    With scholarship:  = Miscellaneous fees(RM3,040) +  External A-Levels exams fee [RM4,500 (4 subjects)] + IELTS class and test fee (RM1,150)  = RM8,690 #  Without scholarship: = Mi...

Happy Chinese New Year 2010 and Happy Valentines Day everyone!!! ^_^

An hour more before Chinese New Year 2010!!! ^_^  Wow, i'm really excited in awaiting for this year Chinese New Year. This year is my turning point year, where my major school life'd be changing gradually from the secondary high school into college or you may say as Pre-University life. For this year, i have to make a significant decision for my life changing path, whether to choose UPU, matriculation or Form 6 STPM. For me, i have applied for matriculation in my school last year with my teacher's help and paid for application of UPU. Now, i'm trapped between UPU, matriculation and Form 6 as my sister that was just came back from UTM said i can only choose one of them and i'd not be able to get three places concurrently. For UPU, i can only choose diploma in engineering courses, computer science, technology management and some other diploma courses that i don't really interested in. My parents don't allow me to take computer science as too many...
