August Updates! =)

Hello people! Sorry for the 2-week hiatus as I was a little bit busy with accommodation stuffs and all. I was trying to find an accommodation cheaper than my own university hall in London. Oh by the way, if you have yet to know, my A-Levels result has finally been revealed! Praise the Lord that I've achieved 3A* 1A! As predicted, I've gotten an A (88 percentile) for my Economics. But still I thank God for it! A* for Maths, Further Maths and Physics are not easy to be attained! What more, I wasn't putting any hope on Physics to get A* since I've got only 90 for my AS. Enough with tears flowing and regrets, I shall be grateful that I'm still going to Cass Business School! All glory to God! Wooohooo~ :D So what's with the accommodation? Apparently Liberty Hall (the university residence that I've applied for) costs £180 per week, which I think is quite expensive. It will then cost £720 per month just for the accommodation alone, out of £1056 monthly allowance...

Plans for the next 3 months! =)

Hooorayyy!!! My exam is over, and let me tell you how I felt immediately after the exam. I felt happy ostensibly like many other friends, but honestly I felt really empty inside, for all in sudden I didn't know what to do after one whole month of nerding, burying myself with notes and past year papers. I actually felt so emo on the day after, thinking hard of what should I do. All in sudden, I thought of playing Texas Hold'Em Poker in Facebook. I bumped into playing poker a week before (just a day after my Economics Paper 4 exam), and I started to learn how to play. But the hard thing comes after learning. Learning how to play poker can be done in less than 10 minutes, but to master it takes a whole life! Just in case you don't know what is poker, poker is a card game that involves betting based on the two cards that you are holding distributed by dealer. You are required to put a blind (minimum stake) into a pot (if you decided to play that hand), and to call/raise/fold ...

College Memories! =)

It's been such a long time since my last update on myself! So yes people, I've finally finished my A-Levels wooohooo! xD Such a huge burden being lifted up from my shoulder, yet another great journey is about to start soon in 3 months time! As most of you know, I've firmed City University London (Cass) to read BSc Actuarial Science. According to my friends who are studying there, it's really not an easy degree to study. Every week they have tests and assignments, but I guess it's almost the same for everyone else. I know I can do it, as nothing is impossible with God! I have so so much to write yet was irresolute on where should I start it from. It has to start somewhere I realised so here we go, back to the my last personal post where I mentioned about potentially losing my A* due to my Economics Paper 4. I was counting on Paper 3 to at least pull back my deviated vehicle from its course towards the attainment of at least an A, and had one whole week to prepare f...

First Sunday Service after RE:UNION! =)

Hello sorry that I'm late to update you the latest sermon! Haha anyway, I'm fine and sound now! Finally I've garnered enough courage to pick myself up from despair, regain my confidence and ready to beat the last battle! Thanks to all my family members and friends who have been with me throughout the day to provide moral support. I wouldn't know what might happen if nobody was right beside me. Thank God that He never gave up on me, and thanks to all my friends who kept consoling me. Thank you for just be there at the moment I need it the most. I reached church yesterday morning safe and sound in one piece, thank God. I was feeling down yesterday when I woke up and cried. Okay that might sound abnormal but yeah it's just me! Anyone who knows me well enough will not be surprised about this cause I used to cry a lot when I was a kid. When I was singing worship song, again my tears dropped as I was so touched by God's love to me. Though I may walk through the v...

Huge Careless Mistakes Costing My A*! =(

I'm done with my Economics Paper 4 today, and I'm almost done with my A2! OMG~ Tell you  what, I really studied a lot these 4 days yet I wasn't that confident yesterday. I managed to finish the syllabus yesterday and just yesterday itself I was looking through the past year essay questions that my lecturer discussed with us during our extra classes few days back. See, I didn't have time to do my past year, but thank God at least I managed to finish reading the whole syllabus. Despite I managed to finish the syllabus, I wasn't quite sure of many topics and couldn't really memorise a lot of it. Well the syllabus are just so broad that I found it difficult to memorise everything in merely 4 days! Anyway, I'm happy that it's now over! To cut the long story short, praise the Lord that I managed to complete the papers! The paper was hard and I was having problem with time management. Time flies and poof! 2 hours 15 mins gone. =/ Just noticed I did some ver...

RE:UNION 2012 (Part 1) - A Great Testimony! =))

Okay this post is going to be freaking long yet I'm so sleepy now after playing badminton with awesome church members this evening! Anyway, this was the first time ever that I've attended RE:UNION and believe it or not, it was awesome! How I wish I could make it for the next one though, I would be in UK by then. =) Anyway, we had lots of pastors coming from all around the world! Just to name a few, Equippers Church based in London and Auckland, New Zealand. We also had a few special local speakers, namely Reverend Sam Surendran and Pastor Palan Ramasamy. I will share more of them later. So I was late and only came for Re:Union in Friday evening as I had paper in Friday's morning. Alright before proceeding to sermons shared in Re:Union parties, let me share a testimony with you! I have one, and I really thank God for it! So as most of you know, I had the scariest papers few days back! Further Maths, a subject that never failed to twist my brain just to solve the question...

Third Sunday Service of May (20/5/12)! =)

Wooohooo! I'm back! So far I've finished 3 papers over the week, i.e. both Maths papers and Physics Paper 4 (structured). Maths Paper 4 was okay, praise the Lord! Maths Paper 3... Oh well I lost around 4 marks but still I'm really thankful for it! At least I just lost 4 marks, not 20 marks. This year Maths Paper 3 was a bit harder compared to previous years (although October/November 2011 paper was tough too), and involved a lot of proving questions (around 5 out of 10). Hopefully I can make it! I need A* for Maths as Cass demanded it. =) For Further Maths students, proving questions are the best questions to be answered since you will be confident that your answer is correct if you could prove something. Physics Paper 4... I have not much comments on it. It was definitely one of the hardest compared to past year papers, since it involved one 7-mark experiment at Section A (Core) and not many people actually read it. A lot of random tricky questions was asked too in that ...

First Sunday Service of May (6/5/12)! =))

So yes people! Just in case you were still living your life thinking that it was April, WAKE UP!!! Well I did, until I realised it's no longer April. It's already May now, exactly 1 week to the commencement of my A2 Final exam! OMG!!! =O Yet I'm still not quite prepared yet for my exam. To be precise, I still have 13 Physics past year papers to be completed, and I forgot a lot of the previous papers. I always fail to tackle questions asking for explanations and that's when I will get stuck. =( I'm just afraid I might explain it wrongly. But that shall be improved over this week as I trust in God! God will help me to get through this! Amen. So today Pastor Kenneth Chin is finally back after 3 weeks of attending mission trips and stuffs! And of course he came back with an extremely awe-inspiring sermon! Can't wait for it? Here it goes! Bible verses: Matthew 13, 2 Chronicles 20:20, Matthew 6:32-33 - It's important to be led by Holy Spirit when going to oth...

Third Sunday Service of April (22/4/12)! =)

Hello people! So it's sermon time again! This is the sermon for Sunday service this morning, delivered by Pastor Sandra! Before commencing the sermon, Pastor read through the biblical scriptures! So here it goes: Bible verses: Revelation 22:17, John 14:1-2, Matthew 24:36, Acts 1:6-7, 9-10, 1 Thessalonians                     4:16-17, Ephesians 5 - Remember Bible verses can help people in all sorts of circumstances, with God speaking to you. - There is an angel watching over everyone of us. - God gives us another helper (Holy Spirit). - When you hear the trumpet sound of archangel, Jesus is coming! - Jesus is our bridegroom, and He is now busy building our mansions in Heaven for us! - Jesus is waiting to come and get us, His second coming! - Jesus is coming back to get His bride (the church)! - We need to get ready as a bride, by improving ourselves for our bridegroom (Jesus), befor...

April Bliss =)

Wooohooo A2 trial is OVER!!! I was so excited when the invigilator said 'Time's up!' yesterday upon finishing my Maths P4 (Mechanics)! Praise the Lord! I didn't have much time to update these 2 weeks cause I was too busy preparing for trial exams! Last week was the worst, with Economics Paper 4, Further Maths 1, and Further Maths 2 on consecutive days. So after 3 ridiculously stressful days of studying, time to camwhore myself! HAHAHA! Well quite unexpected from me, but it's my first time enjoying camwhoring so much! =p I think if you were my friend in my FB, you will be able to see... uh... suffer muahahaha! =p Despite having busy schedule, I still had time (especially when I was hopping on the bus from college to Casa or vice versa) to pick up a book. I've been reading 'The Quant' by Scott Patterson borrowed from the library 2 weeks back before trial started, temporarily stopped reading 'Fooled by Randomness' by Nassim Taleb for a while. ...

Third Sunday Service of the Month (18/3/12)! =)

Everyday I woke up, just to be bombarded with the thought of trial exams approaching. It was 7.45am. I woke up and proceeded to my Economics notes, continued with topics regarding monetary policy and supply side policy. Early morning is, in my opinion, the best time to study especially when one is required to memorise lots of points upon understanding it. Economics works this way for me. You have to understand it, then memorise the points so that you can further elaborate the points during the exam. A good start for my preparation of trial exam coming in less than 2 weeks time, I thought. Next week is going to be more hectic, and of course the week after. Economics 42 on Wednesday, FM1 on Thursday and FM2 on Friday. How 'nice'! My parents didn't oppose much this morning for me going to church, praise the Lord! =) The annual event of 21 days U-turn (Pray and Fast) has already started yesterday, and now I know the difficulty to fast, especially at home. I do acknowledged ...

Ignorance! =(

Wooohooo it's me again! This week passed rather fast but as time passes, I just get more nervous and emotionally drained. Trial exam is approaching in less than 2 weeks now, and for this whole week I've been trying hard to fully utilise my time at night, spared for revision and study. I've tried out a few Physics past year and one inference that I could derive from it was that I understand nothing much about Physics. I will get stuck whenever I face questions demanding graphs and explanations. I got really worried about it cause I shouldn't be ending up like this as I expected something better than this. Again, I gave too high of expecation to myself and eventually got upset about it. My friends told me that what matters the most in Physics are the formulae and understanding. Fully utilise the power of formulae and you shall never go wrong in your graphs sketching. For explanation, you must understand the particular concept to give a good explanation. I only studied...

Basketball Match! =)

It's been really really long time since the last time I played basketball on daily basis. I was in Form 4 by then, and studied most of the time when I was in Form 5. College life started after 6 months in June 2010 and again I was busy accustuming myself with yet another new chapter of my life. Basketball totally went out of my mind and I haven't been playing it for quite some time, until few days ago when my junior asked me to join his basketball team representing A-Levels students in conjunction of Scholars' Sports Day! What? Sports Day? Last year I didn't join and doubt I would have ever participated this year. I eventually agreed to join his team since not many A-Levels guys know how to play basketball. I planned to practice playing basketball these few days but eventually the plan failed due to raining mostly in the evening. Everything was against my plan and I felt so discouraged to join the Sports Day yesterday night. Oh before that, yesterday I wanted to com...

Holiday's Ending Soon! =(

What??? Holidays spanning a month time are going to end soon!!! Oh yeah it's only ONE month anyway, what to expect? Time flies as you sleep and accumulate fats at home. Wait, that's not what I've been doing okay! I've been 'studying' all this while! Non-academic related though. Who says studying is only necessary for exam?  =p  Sadly a lot of people do and I used to be in that category. I did not appreciate the value of continuous learning and obviously did not practice it. Knowledge is power! We have so much things to learn and pick up, to equip ourselves with powerful tools for survival in the ever increasingly competitive global market. Yet a lot of us choose to constrain ourselves to topics related to exam syllabus, not for the sake of real knowledge. No exam, no study. That was what I used to say.  Well now I've changed. I realised I have so much things to learn, and I will pick up as much as I could along the learning path. Besides new yea...

New Year Resolutions! =)

Hello people what's up! It's been a few days of chilling at the beach, enjoying the sea breeze like nobody else's business, in Kuala Terengganu! After 9 hours of travelling on the road, wooohooo finally I'm back at home! =p The infamous year 2012 is coming tomorrow! Yes it's tomorrow! Are you ready for it, to face the year full with devastating myths that the world is coming to an end, pushing human to the brick of extinction? The upcoming of the year 2012 tomorrow also literally means that today is the last day of 2011! What will you be doing on the last day of 2011, so that it could end the year perfectly, memorably? For me, I will probably just stay at home although I wish to go out somewhere and join the mass to count down, welcoming new year! =) Who says you can't stay at home and count down at home, with your dearest family? =)  New year resolutions, something seems to be outcast to me, suddenly struck me recently. I thought I should make a list of...

Updates for the past 5 days! =)

Wooohooo I'm back, finally! After 5 days of leaving my blog rotting on its own, here I am again! Haha just kidding for the rotting part. yeah I was quite busy these few days, and you know you actually need motivation to keep your blog updated? One post will normally cost me 1 hour of time, and that 1 hour could be used to do so many things. Well maybe not that many but still... time is GOLD! So, why am I still updating my blog then? cause I love my blog!!! okay and my readers too haha! =p okay so what have I done for the past 5 days? I will lump everything together to this one post although with quite a different name. On Friday, I attended one of the cell activities called Homes by Acts Church. My assigned Homes is SJ10, and guess what, that's the most awesome place you can be in Friday night! Okay that's what everyone says haha! =p Last week was the final Homes for the year 2011 so we took that opportunity to celebrate upcoming Christmas! I am quite a shy boy (sad to sa...

Updates and Surprises! =D

Helloooooo! =p  It's been really long time but oh well, I hope you all won't blame me for such a long hiatus! What can I say, I will try to post everything recent happening to me here in a single post! But it's kinda illogical though for me to post everything since March this year, so here I would put everything in a list, just to update you all in case you don't know me well enough. Most of my friends especially those in Facebook would definitely know happening's in my life thus far. So here it goes:  1) Finished my AS in May/June 2011, and attained reasonably good results (although not something to be proud of yet grateful for that!) Thank God that I've got 3A's (Economics, Maths, Physics) and a B. Guess what, Thinking Skills. It doesn't really matter since most universities in general won't even look at this in their consideration to give offers, anyway. Ms. Yoong (my TKS lecturer) will sometimes stare at me as if she's gonna kill me cau...

Me Again! =D

Hey there! It’s me again! I know, quite annoying isn’t it? LOL! =p I think I should update more since it’s holiday wooohooo!!! Well, few days ago Semester 1 Exam result was out finally! Guess what I got? :p Praise the Lord that I’ve gotten straight As, unexpectedly and gratefully at the same time. I was expecting a B for FM but well it turned out to be an A! Too excited about it, and think that it’s one of the best Christmas presents I would ever get. Finally all my hard work has been paid off, it’s all worth it! Studied for the whole day, continuously for 3 weeks. I think I’m going to continue this study style cause it’s one of the most effectual methods, I believe. Should study consistently so that I wouldn’t face much problems later on, especially last minutes cramming. Oh yeah just to tell you all, that I’ve been sooooo unproductive for these few weeks since holidays started, cause I didn’t study at all! None! Zero! Well I’m going to start studying soon, just that I want to enjo...

Holiday!!!!!!!! =p

Woooohooooo it's holiday now!!! Finally, the days that I longed for have arrived! xD Oh hey, I bet everyone knows that my Semester 1 exams had finally over! Woohooo hurray for that! Thank God that I managed to do most of the papers, well note the word "almost", cause honestly I literally screwed up my FM 2 - Mechanics! T_T Oh well it's over by the way, so just get over it man! My FM 1 was just so awesome that hopefully can pull up my FM 2 to grade A, so now I'm at the edge of getting A or B for my FM! Or .. hopefully not C! >.< Urgh, that's sucks if I ever get a C in my result. Opss, and sorry for the hiatus, for being such a lazy bum to update my blog! >.< Sorry guys! But well it's my blog, who cares, right? =p So, what've I done so far for these 3 days holiday? Oh wait today is the forth day! *Noted* xD Hmm, went to KLCC initially with my friends Rasyad and Ika for PC fair but since there was nothing much to see, we went to watch movies...
